On Wednesday’s “Late Show,” host Stephen Colbert skewered Donald Trump Jr.’s attempts to minimize a meeting he had last year with a Kremlin-linked lawyer to obtain damaging information on then-Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Colbert mocked Trump Jr.’s assertion. “He has to do whatever it says in an email,” Colbert joked. “That’s why his apartment is full of Nigerian princes and boner pills.”Colbert also poked fun at Trump Jr.’s reasoning that the meeting with Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya wasn’t really important because it predated the public’s interest in the Trump campaign’s alleged ties to Russian officials. “That’s like saying, ‘Yeah, I fired a gun at that guy, but that was before everyone was talking about this whole murder trial,’” Colbert added.
