PORT KLANG: A former Penang DAP branch chairman has called for the party’s secretary-general Lim Guan Eng to step down from the post as the party’s 2012 central executive committee (CEC) election was declared invalid by the Registrar of Societies (RoS). G. Asoghan, who was the chairman of Bagan Luar DAP branch, said Guan Eng had failed in his role to ensure fairness and transparency in the CEC election in 2012. “Guan Eng, as the party secretary-general, should quit his post because of the doubtful 2012 CEC election and the suspicious re-election. It looks like they are ill advising Kit Siang and Guan Eng. “Kit Siang and Guan Eng should not continue to lead if they themselves cannot respect the party’s constitution.
