A soldout Queenstown Events Centre will get a glimpse of the new-look Southern Steel tonight. The Steel continues its pre-season against the two-time ANZ Premiership defending champion Central Pulse. It is a new-look Steel team, meaning the pre-season will be of more importance than usual as it looks to embed combinations. It follows last week’s pre-season matches in Timaru, in which the Steel were well-beaten by the Mainland Tactix in two games. The season begins on April 18 when the Steel faces the the Tactix in Invercargill.
