Steam Credit: ValveValve PC gaming client Steam is out here putting up some impressive numbers. The service broke its record for concurrent players over the weekend, wracking up a massive 18,801,944 users on February 2. Interestingly enough it wasn’t actually a record for number of players in game: a lot of these were people with the client open but not necessarily in-game. That record was set about two years ago during the height of PUBG’s popularity, around the same time that Steam set its previous concurrent record as well. This record doesn’t have a proximal megahit to look towards for causation, which is interesting.
