Stay home on Palm Sunday -- CBCP – The Manila Times

HOLY Week, the final week of the 40-day Lenten Season will start tomorrow with the observance of Palm Sunday. The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said that priests may go around the streets to bless the palms carried by the faithful who would wait in their homes. In a circular, the CBCP said that the faithful who would be following the celebration online or on television may hold their palm branches as the priest passes and recites the prayer of blessing of palms. “In this case, those who follow the celebration on TV, there is no need for Holy Water to bless the Palm branches,” the CBCP said. The CBCP warned that the blessing with holy water “might cause [a] commotion.”
