Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow rain warning covering a large number of counties, including Offaly, with the alert valid from 6am until 3pm today, March 12. In a separate alert, Met Éireann has also issued a nationwide Status Yellow wind warning for Ireland due to strong and gusty southwesterly winds. According to Met Éireann, the strong winds could result in difficult travelling conditions, while debris or loose objects may be displaced. Both warnings come as a spell of unsettled weather moves across the country, with conditions expected to gradually improve later this evening as the rain clears eastwards.
