A coalition of 23 states filed suit Wednesday against the Trump administration’s March easing of tailpipe-emissions standards, arguing that it violated the law and was based on faulty analyses. The Environmental Protection Agency and National Highway Transportation Safety Administration in March significantly cut back on clean air rules for cars, including increased mileage standards, that were put in place by the Obama administration in 2012 with the aim of reducing greenhouse-gas emissions and improving fuel efficiency.
