KUCHING: More than 400 pieces of Chinese pottery believed to be from the Qing Dynasty, which were discovered near a police station in Jalan Khoo Yeang here in January, have been sent to the state museum. “From the colour and design of the items, we believed they were from the Qing Dynasty dating between 1644 and 1912,” he said. “So far, there isn’t any similar or new discoveries around the area yet.”The relics would be kept and made available for experts from other countries who were interested to study them. In January, a group of construction workers stumbled upon broken pieces of ancient Chinese pottery 1.8m below the ground. The Qing Dynasty was touted as the last great Chinese empire until it was overthrown in a revolution that began on Oct 10, 1911.
