PASIR GUDANG: The state government is still waiting for a full report by an independent commission on the Hospital Sultanah Aminah (HSA) fire which occurred in October last year. Johor Health and Environment committee chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat (pic) said renovation work at the hospital's intensive care unit (ICU) would start upon the completion of the report by the commission. He said the state government had requested for a financial allocation from the Federal government of between RM12mil and RM20mil for the renovation work. "We understand the problems and inconvenience faced by Johor Baru residents seeking treatment as they have to be referred to other public hospitals in the state. On claims that medical supplies were running low at pharmacies at public hospitals in Johor, Ayub said the reports were not true.
