State Funeral Held for Former Ethiopian President Girma WoldegiorgisDecember 19, 2018 - Former Ethiopian President Girma Woldegirorgis was laid to rest today at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Addis Ababa. President Girma Woldegioargis served as ceremonial head of state of Ethiopia from 2001 to 2013. President Girma Woldegiorgis led a long public career in public service spanning multiple governments in Ethiopia, from the imperial period to the current, EPRDF government. During Emperor Hailesilassie period, Girma was director-general of Ethiopia’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Planning between 1958 and 59. President Girma Woldegiorgis is survived by his five children.
