Share:The annual US report on terrorism was just released by the State Department which provides a review of Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts. Neither the Pakistan government nor the foreign office have reacted to the report yet. Which is why it came as no surprise that age-old “concerns” relating to the Haqqani Network, LeT, and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) have been recycled in the report. Based on how things stand currently, the move away to geo-economics and connectivity could not have come at a better time. Focusing on this can help us gain leverage and build a wide network of partnerships going forward, which will also enhance our ability to chart a more independent and autonomous foreign policy.
