SHAH ALAM: Growing-up in a multiracial and multireligious community in Teluk Intan taught Farriz Abd Rahman the importance of respecting different cultures and practices. When the pre-school and daycare centre started operations last year, Farriz made it a point to inculcate the same values among the pupils. Given that the centre operates based on Islamic principles, said Farriz, the move was also in tandem with cultivating the children in becoming good Muslims. He said some of the parents shared the video of their children greeting the Chinese neighbours on social media. “The people operating the centre are very nice and it is good that they are encouraging the children to interact closely with other races,’’ he added.
