Sir Keir Starmer has said he is “fed up” with Donald Trump and appeared to compare him to Vladimir Putin. During a trip to the Gulf, the Prime Minister said he is unhappy with the impact of the Iran war on the domestic cost of living. Sir Keir’s comments came after Yvette Cooper, the Foreign Secretary, warned that Israel’s strikes were “deeply damaging” and risked destabilising the region. Their comments are likely to further damage the strained relationship between the US president and Nato. On Thursday morning, Ms Cooper told Times Radio that the UK had taken a “different” view from Washington on the war.
