Anyone might get the caffeine jitters from thinking about everything Starbucks is doing these days. First there's Blonde roast, a decidedly mass market effort to serve and sell "lighter" coffee. It's the dry, higher caffeine, more acidic and thinner cup Starbucks talked us into giving up way back when. "we do middle brow better" might be a nice new slogan. What this all feels like is that Starbucks, the signature coffee but probably also real estate and causal food and restaurant company, is working hard to be all things to at least most people.
