Starboard Value LP has dropped a planned proxy fight at Dollar Tree Inc. after the retailer showed openness to implementing some of the changes the hedge fund sought. Starboard said Friday it decided to withdraw its nomination of directors at Dollar Tree. The hedge fund said it is pleased that Dollar Tree plans to test multiple price points in its stores and that it continues to have constructive conversations with the company’s management.
