A team from the Star has taken top prize at the National Newspaper Awards, winning the Project of the Year category for an investigation into missing and murdered indigenous women in Canada. The investigation into missing and murdered aboriginal women was one of two Star nominees in the Project of the Year category, along with Breaking Badge, a look at police misconduct that goes unpunished. The project, “Gone,” was honoured at an awards gala in Edmonton on Friday evening.
