The much-anticipated footage has revealed the title of the upcoming end of the Skywalker saga and ninth film in the main Star Wars franchise as The Rise of Skywalker. We also got treated to scenes of Lando's return, new creatures, epic landscapes and finally the return of a familiar sound. Palpatine actor Ian McDiarmid confirmed the character's presence by making a shock appearance at the Star Wars Celebration where the trailer and titled premiered. At attendance at Star Wars Celebration were producer Kathleen Kennedy, director J.J. Abrams, along with stars Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and more. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is released in UK cinemas on December 19, 2019.
