Big Spoilers for Infinity War Ahead, ObviouslyStar-Lord’s most significant contribution to the plot of Infinity War was to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, which resulted in (spoiler) half the life in the universe dying, and seemingly, most of the Avengers. But getting angry over Star-Lord’s lack of self-control is missing the point - the mistake highlighted the big difference between the good guys, and the Marvel’s most powerful bad guy. For if Batman allows himself to take even a single human life, he’ll have permanently warped his perspective, and who knows where that could lead. Tony watched his surrogate son die in his arms, thus, his (presumably) universe-saving actions in Avengers 4 will be fueled by grief, just like Star-Lord in Infinity War. Star-Lord’s big mistake was undoubtedly an act of heroism, even if it was heroic incompetence.
