DSCC Mayor Sayeed Khokon on Sunday ordered the authorities concerned to award jail terms along with fines for those found guilty of food adulteration. "If anyone is found guilty of food adulteration, they will be sentenced to jail terms along with being fined," said Mayor Khokon, while talking to reporters after inaugurating an anti-adulteration special crash program in the city's Dhanmondi area. "During previous anti-adulteration drives, we fined offenders but failed to prevent the problem. So, we've taken a strict decision to award jail terms as well to those found guilty of food adulteration," he said. DSCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mostafizur Rahman, Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Sheikh Mohammad Salauddin, and other high officials concerned were present at the inauguration.
