Kowhitirangi dairy farmer and precision marksman Stanley Graham took out four policemen along with two Home Guarders and a civilian before he himself was shot by a police marksman on October 21, 1941. Best drove out to discuss the matter with Graham, but backed off when Graham pointed two rifles out the window at him. After being shot, Graham was surrounded by almost a hundred police and army personnel, reportedly telling one of them that he "could have shot some more" if he had the chance. The-Press Constable J.
