Three years ago, the Bolts made it to the Stanley Cup final and lost to Chicago. The Lightning might have made a run at a playoff berth last season if Yzerman had taken the conservative route and kept his group intact. Right now, Washington and underrated Boston are looking like the greatest obstacles in the east to Tampa getting back to the Cup final. While dealing with a nasty schedule, the Leafs haven’t looked like a team in Tampa’s class in recent weeks. Finding a formula to beat the Lightning to start 2018, however, would serve notice that Toronto isn’t conceding anything yet.
