DMK chief MK Stalin proposed Congress president Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate, saying he has got the “ability to defeat the fascist Modi government”. After unveiling the statues, the Gandhis and other leaders paid tribute to Karunanidhi at his memorial at Marina Beach. They later addressed a rally, where Stalin proposed Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial candidate. I propose the candidature of Rahul Gandhi from Tamil Nadu. In his address, Rahul Gandhi attacked the Narendra Modi at the Centre while praising the late DMK chief.
