A man was taken to hospital Friday, following a serious assault in Maddox Cove. At 5:15 p.m. Friday, the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called out to a home in the community, where they discovered a man had been stabbed. Police said he was taken to hospital to seek medical treatment for his injuries. A woman was charged with assault with a weapon and being unlawfully in a residence. It's not known what type of weapon was used in the assault.
