Gemma Ward was just 15 when she was contacted by 34-year-old paedophile Michael Wood after she posted online to say she was feeling lonely. The father-of-three, from St Helens, was jailed for three years in January and his victim is urging other girls not to speak to strangers online. She added that the paedophile 'emotionally blackmailed' her and later 'took advantage of her' after they spoke every day for three months. She wrote that she should be able to follow football news on Twitter and use Facebook to keep up with her friends 'without being groomed'. 'If Facebook and Twitter took more responsibility for keeping children safe, then he might have been prevented from messaging me.
