more-inSrisailam on Monday attracted a large number of pilgrims for the Mahasivarathri brahmotsavam. They had a holy bath in Pathalaganga and darshan of the presiding deities Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy and Sri Bhramaramba Devi. Priests performed special pooja to Sri Chandeeswara Swamy, japam, mantaparadhana, pachavaranarchana, Rudra homam and Chandi homam as per agama sastra in the Srisailam temple on the second day of the brahmotsavam. Pradoshakala pooja, homam and japam were performed in the evening. The presiding deities were taken in procession on Mayura vahanam to Akkamahadevi alamkara mantapam, where Vighneswara shodasopachara pooja was performed for global peace and prosperity.
