The arrested person, identified as Shahinur Rahman Shahin, 45, is a former general secretary of the district Jubo Sramik League unit. On being informed soon, police arrested Shahin while the others managed to flee the scene. Later, the driver Monir Hossain filed a case with Sadar police station, accusing Shahin and 13/14 unnamed people of the crime. At noon on Monday, police produced Shahinur in the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate Billal Hossain with a three-day remand prayer.
