A bylaw amendment up for consideration before Squamish District council tonight could create a blanket ban on sleeping in vehicles. "A person must not: (a) camp in any public place; or (b) sleep overnight in any public place unless designated a camping place," the amendment reads. Pidgeon is concerned about a bylaw amendment before district council that could lead to a ban on living in vehicles. She said she's hopeful the bylaw amendment doesn't pass, but she expects it will. Mayor Karen Elliott declined an interview request from CBC News about the bylaw amendment.
