The Sputnik COVID-19 vaccine which was approved by the National Medicinal Regulatory Authority (NMRA) will be available in Sri Lanka soon, the Chief of the Presidential Task Force on the Procurement of COVID Vaccine, Lalith Weeratunga, said. Weeratunga said this while speaking at a special media briefing held for social media activists by the National Center for Media Development under the Ministry of Mass Media and Information today. He recalled that 155,000 people in the health sector had been given 0.67% of the vaccines first and then the Tri-forces had been given 0.56%. Therefore, the remaining 250,000 doses were given to those between 30 and 60 years. He also said that more doses would arrive in the country soon.
