JSE-listed franchise restaurant chain Spur has ushered in the new year with new leadership. But the group, still wading through troubled waters, hopes the new team of senior executives will help save the sinking ship by boosting investor confidence. Val Nichas is the new CEO, with effect from 1 January, while Cristina Teixeira is the new CFO with effect from 1 February. Kevin Robertson was appointed COO in October 2020. At present, the new management team does not own a stake in the company, which may not be an anomaly, given they have started their tenure so recently.
