North Canterbury company Springbank Honey was forced to burn thousands of bee boxes by the National American Foulbrood Management Agency. National American Foulbrood Management Agency compliance manager Niharika Long said she could not share the spore count as it was “commercially sensitive”. Long said she “could not stress enough the importance of destroying any equipment” with traces of American Foulbrood.
