MetService severe weather warning: September 22nd. Most of the North Island is to be hammered by rain and wind tonight as days of stormy weather hit. Northland will bear the brunt of it with a heavy rain watch in place for the area until 7am tomorrow. "For the North Island and the top of the South Island tomorrow is going to be a wet day. Most of the South Island avoids the wet weather heading for most of the country n the next few days, but it will be greeted with heavy rain on Saturday.
