Talks are ongoing, and might not result in a deal, according to a person with direct knowledge of the situation. Spotify shares (SPOT) have risen 1.5% since the Wall Street Journal first reported deal talks late Friday. Media analyst James McQuivey of Forrester Research notes that acquiring Gimlet Media could provide access to more exclusive content — helping to attract new subscribers.
