A tug-of-war pits family and friends against each other as part of the Cross Recreation Centre's fifth birthday celebrations on Saturday. More than $15,000 was raised for breast and prostate cancer research in a cycle event held in conjunction with the birthday celebrations. More than 500 people attended the celebrations, which included sports displays and games such as tug-of-war, Zorb soccer, horizontal bungee and gymnastics. She said everyone enjoyed the day and interest in some of the sporting activities the centre offered increased.
