There aren’t many ways that a Spencer Jones show resembles the work of Anton Chekhov. Here, no longer sure whether he’s in character or not, he delivers his richest show yet. A dozen or so of those tennis balls have been doctored to make weirdly expressive puppet people. More often, the laughs keep coming, as Jones rehearses his melodramatic robot speech and conducts a crazy-logic dialogue about “where adults come from” with his infant son. Jones nails it here, his put-upon grownup and irrepressible inner child working in harmony to create a lovely hour of madcap comedy.
