Prime Minister Narendra Modi Wednesday asked the states to accelerate Aadhaar enrolment of children in the age group of 5 to 18 years to make scholarships and other educational benefits more accessible to them. The PM’s directive came during the review of grievances redressal in the field of school education and literacy. On the progress of Aadhaar enrolment, it was noted that overall enrolment is now close to 105 crore, and special attention is being given to the Northeast states that are lagging behind.
