A special traffic plan will be implemented from 5.00pm today due to the annual Navam Perahera by Gangarama Temple, Hunupitiya. The Perahera is due to commence at 5.00pm and police urge the motorists to avoid the area and use alternative routes. The Perahera will commence from Sir James Pieris Mawatha and march through Perahera Mawatha, Uththarananda Mawatha, Navam Mawatha and back to the temple. During the Perahera time, motorists are advised to use the Dharmapala Mawatha, Union Place, Justice Akbar Mawatha and Galle Road as alternative routes.
