Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley today confirmed the roll out of the new tax regime under the GST from midnight of June 30. Jaitley told mediapersons that GST will be officially launched on the evening of June 30. Speaking on the role of the GST council, Jaitley said that all decisions taken by the council were made after due consultation. The launch will also see parliamentarians, chief ministers of states, GST Council members and all those who have assisted in the entire GST process. "Two former Prime Ministers Manmohan Singh, Deve Gowda will also be present," Jaitley told reporters during a press conference today.
