NewsThe Department for Registration of Persons has introduced a special hotline for G C E Ordinary Level examination candidates who are yet to receive their National Identity Card (NIC). Candidates had been instructed to submit applications forms to the Department or its regional offices before March 31, requesting for NIC's to sit for the exam. However, the Department observed that many forms had been sent past the due date and also with several errors. Viyani Gunathilake, the Department's Commissioner General, said that steps have been taken to send NICs through post. Candidates who have not received their NIC's have been advised to contact the hotline and take the relevant steps to obtain their NIC.
