Special Boat Service commandos were preparing to move to Cyprus and from there stage a rescue operation as the search continued. The move came as Foreign Office officials launched an investigation amid fears more British civilians are still missing. A 20 strong SBS unit was last night preparing to fly to the military base at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus - pending a foreign office decision. “We are contacting British people in the region to provide support and are updating our travel advice regularly.”An MoD spokesman told the Daily Mirror: “We neither confirm or deny enquiries about special forces activity.”
