IPOH: No academic credits are needed for orang asli students who enrol in government Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institutions, says M. Kulasegaran. The Human Resources Minister said the special provision for orang asli was needed to encourage more from the community to take up TVET. Kulasegaran said should any orang asli enrol in TVET, they will also be exempted from paying the admission fee that costs about RM700. "Orang asli are among those who are being neglected in the country. "As long as the orang asli student can read and write, we will offer them courses in TVET," he added.
