Femi Makinde, OsogboThe Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam, has warned the warned the people of the state against being induced to vote. The Speaker gave this admonition on Tuesday in a statement to felicitate with the people of the state on the occasion of Democracy Day. Salaam said though he acknowledged June 12 as Democracy Day in Nigeria; nevertheless, he stated that May 29 was equally significant as a day Nigeria crossed over from military regime to civil rule. He stated that the opportunity offered by this day must be taken by the people to recognise the office of the citizen as an existential office, using their votes wisely without inducement from politicians.
