All six leadership contenders were each given five minutes at the forum to lay out their vision for the opposition party's future. Frontrunner and Former Vice President Wu Den-yih (吳敦義) said he would bring back the "victory formula" he implemented as KMT secretary-general between 2007 and 2009. Wu pointed to his time as premier under former President Ma Ying-jeou to boost his case for the leadership. "If the DPP can raise good bills favorable to most people, the KMT should support the bills," Han said. Meanwhile, leadership candidate and former KMT Vice Chairman Steve Chan (詹啟賢) called on the party to unite around a common goal as well as seek out the support of floating voters.
