Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez expressed his gratitude to Morocco for its support to relief operations following the devastating floods in the Valencia region. Sánchez highlighted the efforts made by rescue teams from Morocco, Portugal and France, and emphasized their critical role in assisting the affected areas. Morocco was thus one of the first countries to offer aid, pledging to send trucks and operators to support the cleanup and recovery efforts. The Moroccan teams was tasked with the arduous work of removing and transporting vast quantities of mud and debris from affected areas. As put by Morocco’s ambassador to Madrid, Karima Benyaich, this support testifies to Morocco’s firm determination to actively contribute to the rescue efforts in a spirit of mutual aid and fraternity with Spain.
