Part of Tebas’ “justification” was that non-US teams play in MLS and that it is only one game a season. But within Tebas’ response, he did provide clarity on the agreement between La Liga and Relevent and what was required of the clubs. Tebas reportedly confirmed that La Liga’s partner, Relevent Sports will compensate Girona season ticket holders and further, Relevent will pay the flight costs. That works out at $15m per season or $750,000 per La Liga team. In 2016/17 La Liga (first and second divisions in combination) generated €3.6b ($4.2b) in revenue from all sources.
