Blunt-impact trauma caused the death of a passenger on the Southwest AirlinesCo. flight that made an emergency landing Tuesday in Philadelphia after an engine blew apart in midair, officials said Thursday. Passenger Jennifer Riordan died from blunt-impact trauma to the head, neck and torso, said a spokesman for the Philadelphia Department of Public Health.
