The southwest monsoon has advanced into the south Andaman sea, someparts of the south Bay of Bengal and the Nicobar Islands on Friday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) . "Fairly widespread to widespread rainfall occurred over Lakshadweep, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karnataka during the past 24 hours. One ortwo places in Lakshadweep and Kerala received heavy rainfall. Minicoy in Lakshadweep received 76.7 mm rainfall while in Kerala, Vellanikkara received 80.3 mm rainfall,” said a statement released by IMD. Light rainfall forecast for PuneAs per predictions released by IMD, Pune is likely to experience cloudy weather and light rainfall in the coming 24 hours, while a few other pockets of the state, including parts of Vidarbha, could experience heatwave conditions in the next 24 hours.
