Five new speed cameras will be switched on in Otago and Southland next week, including three in Dunedin, police say. The cameras will sit beside Dunedin’s Southern Motorway at Burnside, King Edward St in South Dunedin, Maclaggan St in central Dunedin, Wansbeck St in Oamaru and Otatara Rd in Invercargill. Plans for the new cameras were announced last year, as part of a wider $10 million expansion of the police static camera programme which began in July 2013.
