A key figure in the Southland Regional Development Strategy is now on the advisory panel to help guide the Government's $3 billion regional fund. Her contract, alongside that of programme director Sarah Hannan, comes to an end at the end of this month. Regional Development Minister Shane Jones has named Brown on an eight-person advisory panel for the massive fund. A final proposal for a long-awaited umbrella Southland regional development agency to oversee delivery and further development, and to provide the concerted provincial voice the Government was looking for, is expected to be announced in a matter of days.
