Southland youngsters set for 2018 Colgate GamesRebecca Moore/STUFF Southland athletes from left, Tessa Baird, 13, Hannah Smith, 14, Georgia Ellis, 14, Skye Singer, 14, Trent Hogg, 14, Jack Dempster, 13, Rico Fisher, 12, Taylor Singer, 13, Joseph Ayoade, 13, and Quinn Hartley, 13, are some of those who will compete in the Colgate Games next year. Among thousands of youngsters, 93 Southlanders will head to the Colgate Games in January. The North Island Colgate Games will be held at Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland from January 5 to 7, and the South Island Colgate Games will be held at Aorangi Park in Timaru from January 12 to 14. Colgate New Zealand general manager John Garside said the Colgate Games had brought children, parents and the athletics community together in the spirit of true sportsmanship for 40 years. "The Colgate Games have hosted more than 80,000 competitors, at 12 locations across New Zealand, over the past four decades.
