Southland Sharks player Josh Cunningham Southern Steel shooter George Fisher and are both finals bound with their respective Invercargill-based professional sports teams making it to the playoffs. Southland's two round-ball professional sporting teams are both finals bound. The Southland Sharks, who like the Steel is based out of Invercargill's Mike Piper Training Centre, had already booked its semifinal spot in the National Basketball League. The Sharks will take on Hawke’s Bay in Porirua on Thursday night with the hope to progress to the grand final the following night. The winner of the elimination final will play the Northern Mystics in Auckland in the ANZ Premiership grand final on August 8.
